Blendabilities

Have you heard about Blendabilities yet? They are Stampin' Up's new alcohol markers. And, they aren't available yet. They will be available to Stampin' Up Demos on May 1, and SU customers on June 2. And,  Scrapbook and Cards Today will be featuring a several-page spread of Stampin' Blendabilities in their issue that drops April 26, 2014.

As a member of Stampin' Up's Artisan Design Team, I received these this week to get a start on some design ideas. They are AMAZING!! They do take some practice, don't get me wrong, but once you play with them you get the feel for them easily. And, lucky me, my mom (who is an Artist in real life and an art teacher) is here for Easter! She was able to give me a few pointers on shading and blending. Here is one of my first attempts.
Super cute!! That shoe! I love it but haven't used it. These markers were the perfect thing I needed to get that shiny look I wanted. I used the Cherry Cobbler Blendabilities to color and shade. I also use the Color Lifter. Not bad for a beginner, but I do have a lot to learn. I can't wait to practice more!

This cute little shoe is from the Making a Point set. It is a Hostess set and you can only get it if you place an order or host a workshop of $150 or more. And, it will only be available until June 1!

I will have many more samples with the Blendabilities in the coming months. I have lots of learning to do and I do plan on sharing what I figure out with you. So, stay tuned and check back often!! Thanks for stopping by today!

Hello, Sailor- AWW

Welcome back to another round of the Stampin' Up Artisan Wednesday Wow Blog Hop! I think this week's project are my favorite from this box. I am really in a nautical mood lately and I think it's because I have the SU cruise coming up in just a couple of weeks! So, playing with the Hello, Sailor stamp set helped me get even more excited about our upcoming days at sea!

I started with a basic idea- Night of Navy Chevron background.... Crumb Cake Cardstock...little red cluster in the bottom corner. And from that basic idea, I created four different cards!
Not only did I use the Chevron background stamp and the Hello Sailor set, I found that the Tape It set was a nice partner as well. It helped me start my "little stack of goodies" and build up from there. This one also includes two little die cut arrows (framelits) and Core'dinatons cardstock.

The next one added in a little Baked Brown Sugar washi tape stamps. And, I used my Stampin' Write markers to color the stamp. Colorign stamps with markers is an easy "wow" you should try!

The next one includes a Full Heart punch from the Real Red Core'dinations cardstock. And a loose linen thread bow BEHIND the stamped image. This is very trendy right now. I see lots of little twine nests on cards all over Pinterest!

Do you see how my chevron stamp didn't quite stamp all the way in the corner.. .I could have considered that an oops.. but I actually loved it!! Very distressed look. And it was an accident! Love when that happens!

The last one includes the ABC-123 Sketch Alphabet set. I saw a sign online with this LOVE design and had to make a card using it! So cute!

So as you can see, the Hello, Sailor stamp set can create a variety of fun cards. Each is simple, relatively similar, yet very different card. I love this set and thinks it really lends itself to masculine cards.

Ok, now you're on to your next stop. Go check out what my friend Jane Lee has on her blog today. Make sure to leave her a little blog love before you leave! Have a wonderful week!

Sweet Sweetie Pie

When the Sweetie Pie Photopolymer stamp set was released recently, I fell in love instantly! An entire sheet of cute little girl faces. What could be better? I have a million and one uses for these!

I used them this weekend for the sketch at Stampin Celebration Inspiration Challenge.

For today's card, I used as many of them as I could to fill in the circle shape in this sketch. And aren't their little faces cute? I tried to make them all a little different in coloring. Just like real life!

I don't remember all the colors I used... lot's of pinks and neutrals.  I added an arc of Basic Peearls on the top side as well. The DSP is all from the Designer Series Stacks (Strawberry Slush, Crushed Curry and Baked Brown Sugar.)

This yummy ribbon is on it's way out. It's an In-Color and they will be going away at the end of May. This one is called Primrose Petals. Don't forget to snag yours soon! I will miss these satin ribbons, they are great!

Make sure you hop over to SCIC and see what the other girls came up with. I hope our sketch inspires you to get you stamps inky! Have a great Tuesday!

Hello, Sailor!

What a BUSY weekend. My husband said it best today "I can't wait to go back to work so I can get some rest!" Ha! Spring is always so busy.

This year, we are also preparing for the upcoming Stampin' Up Western Carribean Cruise. I am not only taking hubby, but also my three girls! That means A LOT of preparations need to be made!

So, with that being said, I have the beach, and the ocean and sailing on the brain. When I saw the sketch at The Sweetest Thing today, I thought immediately of a nautical theme!

I'm really getting alot of use out of the Hello, Sailor stamp set in the Occasions catalog. It's a fun one! In fact, my Artisan post this week showcase this set as well. I "eyeballed" the wheels. They were pretty easy to line up. They aren't perfect, but, really, who's looking at them? i think your eye goes right to the cluster of cuteness, does it not?

The anchor is from the Anchors Away digital download. I cut it on my E-Cutter in Silver Foil Cardstock.  I tore a little Crumb Cake paper and crimped it followed by some inking. I wrapped some linen twine into a loop and layered them on top of some Real Red DSP. The anchor was attached with Glue Dots and the sentiment then followed. It is from Bitty Banners.

Here is the sketch that spurred my creativity today.

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you have a survivable Monday!!
